Vesak Lantern competition
Annual Vesak lantern competition was held at GP premises on 30th of May 2016 to celebrate the Vesak festival. There were many lanterns presented by different sections, it proved the team effort and involvement of the GP family. Judge panel appreciated the usage of factory waste, it add value to the creations.
There were two first places for the first time. Krishani production line and Audit team won the first places because of their creativity. Third place won by packing section. All the winners received gifts for the contributions made.

Vesak card competition
For the first time, a Vesak card competition was conducted at GP garments, during the month of May 2016, under the supervision of HR team. Participants had to create their own Vesak cards and handed over to the HR department to select the best cards for the competition. All were impressed about the creativity and talent of the participants. Five winners were selected. They showed their respect about the Vesak Poya day and the importance of the event through their creations.

New-year festival
GP Garments decided to celebrate Sinhala & Tamil New year by organizing, for the first time, a new-year festival on 23rd of April 2016, at the company premises.
It includes some traditional new-year games like Kanamuttiya, Kottapora. There was a special event; selecting GP new-year princess and prince, for the occasion, qualified panel of judges were appointed.
After the game, the musical show started. Two popular stars (Rukman Asitha and Nadini Premadasa) participated to the event. Entertainment was great!
This new- year festival brought warm wishes and joyful feelings.
