Jayawiru Sewana Alms Giving
As a tribute to our company founder late Mr. Geert Derere at the commemoration of his 6thdeath anniversary, an alms giving was organized on 23.10.2019 ay Jayawiru sewana, a care home for the mentally and physically retarded Gents. This initiative was encouraged by Mr. Serge Watte (Managing Director), Mr. Patrice Jermann (Chief Finance and other compliance Officer), Mr.Saman Wijesundara (Senior Human Resources Manager) and Mr. Lakshman (Factory Manager). The management offered sanitary items, clothes, medicine to the occupants. GP Garments revamped their entire electricity system and provided new electricity connection to the canteen in contributing for a worthy cause.

Special Disaster management and Rescue Training Programme
A special training for disaster management team and firefighting team was organized by GP HR team. It was conducted at the Galkissa beach on 30th August 2019. One lecturer of the program was Mr. Milroy from Onguard Fire protection services regarding Firefighting. Mr. Wageesha Wickramawansha Bandara (The master of Angampora and Meditation) instructed about confidence building. Mr. Chathuranga Dissanayaka from St. John Ambulance taught about the emergency medical technics. From this program, all employees acquired practical experience on how to behave while facing an incident.

BMICH BOOK FAIR – 2019
With the objectives of enhancing welfare facilities for GP employees, HR Team and some selected employees attended to the international book fair at BMICH in Colombo for around 3 days. At the venue, employees get the opportunity to meet some famous writers and it was a valuable day for all. Around 150 new books were purchased for the library. It was a great event for book lovers!
