Carrom Tournament - 2014

The Annual Carrom Tournament of GP Garments held  on 31/08/2014 at gp premises and there were 32 participants from boys category and 38 participants from girls category. The panel of judges  included  ‘A’ grade umpires of the Sri Lankan Carrom Federation. Mr. Chamil Cooray (Former World Carrom Champion), also being the coach of GP team has given us the opportunity to participate in the Club Tournament – ‘C’ Division, organized by the Sri Lankan Carrom Federation.

Supervisor's Training Program - 24.08.2014

The most successful and exceptional ‘Motivation and Team Building Training Program’ in GP history  held on 24/08/2014 at the GP premises. Leadership qualities and team spirit was successfully establshied among the individuals (supervisors) by this exceptional program. The program was conducted by  guest lecturer, Mr. Chamila Sri Kodikara using practical assignments.

General Manager Mr. Serge Watte graced the occasion as the chief guest for the 5 Star Level Lunch that was arranged by the supervisors. After the meals, Mr. Serge addressed the gathering and announced that the winning team will get a chance to dine in a 3 star Restaurant by giving  glamour to the event.

The program objective of this program was to build team work by competition among 3 teams of 33 supervisors for each team, altogether comprising 99 supervisors. Team A competed in the name ‘Samanala’  led by Anuruddha (5027), Team B in the name of ‘Appetizer’  led by Ravi (8079) and Team C in the name of ‘Anagi’   led by Thushara (8094).

Annual Badminton – Doubles Tournament

On 15.06.2014 the annual internal badminton tournament took place at GP premises. HR Department won male- double and female double trophies while Quality and Cutting Department winning the mixed double trophies. Male Runners up were QC Department and Work study Department and Female Runners up won by Nilanthi Production Line.
